Customer – Thermal Forming
Location: United States (Midwest)
Water Application: This water is used in the thermal forming R&D Process. The purity requirements are 1 Meg Ohm or better to help prevent scale forming in the process. Current Situation – Customer was starting a new process and required 1 Meg Ohm or better quality water. The low total dissolved solids water (TDS) was needed in the process to prevent scale from forming. The facility was fed with a municipal water source that had, high hardness, TDS, and chlorine in the water. The water testing revealed how the system needed to be designed and laid out. The daily water usage would be minimal but they would require to empty and refill solutions tanks which would take a lot of purified water.
Solution- Complete Water Solutions performed a water analysis and performed a modeling analysis to see what would be the best design for the process requirements. The following turnkey system was provided and installed by Complete Water Solutions:
- Fleck Twin Alternating Softener System
- Fleck Carbon Filtration System (Chlorine Removal)
- Veolia LT4-1 Reverse Osmosis System
- DI System ( Deionization)
- A few other ancillary things such as a storage tank, recirculation / distribution pump, and more.
Results
3.5 GPM DI Water
0.10 – 0.19 Microsiemens
