Fiberglass Replacement Tank #2

Fiberglass Tank Replacement Project

Recently, on a past post, Complete Water Solutions was called out to replace a fiberglass tank. There were two tanks that were leaking due to excessive pressure swings that caused the tanks to expand and contract. The customer had initially called another vendor, who informed them that neither tank was under warranty. Complete Water Solutions, however, took the serial numbers, submitted them for warranty, and discovered that one tank was still covered. The first tank was replaced in the previous post, and now we look at the second tank replacement.

Challenges with the Second Tank Replacement

This fiberglass tank replacement presented a few additional challenges:

  • Tight Space – The old tank had to be cut up to be removed.

  • Skid Support Bars – The tanks sat on a steel skid. The old skid supports cleared the old tank stands but not the new ones, requiring modifications.

  • Piping Adjustments – The new tank was about 1″ taller, which caused the old piping to be out of level. Complete Water Solutions re-aligned the piping accordingly.

Final Steps

After installing the new water softener tank, Complete Water Solutions verified the system operations and regeneration to ensure everything was running properly.
