Activated carbon for use as an active ingredient (Activated Charcoal, Carbo Activatus) is also supplied by NORIT. Our API grades are used to treat:
- Poisonings
- Drug overdoses

NORIT SX ULTRA powdered activated carbon: designed to yield high purity colorless liquids and pure white crystals, in pharma, fine chemical, and food applications
This top-of-the-range 'wide spectrum' purification product is especially suitable where:
- An extremely low dosage ratio, so an extremely high adsorption capacity, is required
- Discolorations, light to dark, are to be removed (often yellow to brown), and/or precursors, degradation/side products, oligopeptides.)
- A very high purity adsorbent is needed
- Good filtration rates and low filter aid demand are desired
NORIT SX ULTRA powdered activated carbon is produced by steam activation of a unique raw material to obtain an extremely well developed micro- as well as meso-porosity, followed by special particle sizing for good filtration, and a multistep washing process for high purity.
